It was an absolute pleasure to host Larry Appelbaum at JAM MUSIC LAB and the Jewish Museum Vienna. At JAM MUSIC LAB Larry Appelbaum held a lecture on music business: “So You Made Your CD, Now What?” Here he gave practical advice on jazz career development for the institute’s students.

At the Institute of Musicology, Vienna, I was part of a several year long ongoing research seminar on musical hermeneutics, which was led by the musicologist Gernot Gruber.

At the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna I’m currently working on a PhD thesis "Composition in Jazz". I´m very much looking forward to getting in contact with more scholars, composers, musicians, journalists, broadcasters, those who are generally interested in jazz, as well as people working on similar topics and who are also interested in sharing ideas and knowledge accordingly.

Renowned international trumpeter Rex Richardson is a Yamaha Performing Artist and a veteran of the acclaimed chamber group Rhythm & Brass, the Brass Band of Battle Creek, and jazz legend Joe Henderson’s Quintet and Sextet.
