Jam Music Lab professor and pianist Danny Grissett’s master ensemble was thrilled to contribute to International Jazz day and the Herbie Hancock Institute in Washington DC. Since 2021, the ensemble has been working with JAM guest teacher Peter Erskine on a program based on the music of Leonard Benstein. A rehearsal of the program was broadcast live on April 30, 2022 by International Jazz Day on the theme “Music Education in Jazz”.
Fascinating to see and hear how the great music of Leonard Bernstein can be presented in the context of a jazz ensemble.
